Re: Can anyone recommend some plimsolls for running?
As per earlier it depends on build.

So I am 6ft about 13st and mild over pronator.
I do trail and use a pair of Hoka one one Speedgoats - an excellent cushioned shoe
Road I use Saucony Guide (lovely responsive shoe) but when they wear out as I am getting on will be going for the new Hoka one one Arahi - which has stability control and as with all Hoka's plush cusioning (great for old knees like mine).

I would suggest staying well away from any barefoot/mininalist shoe unless you are 10st and under or an elite athelete, as you will fuck yourself up. The stresses caused by the shoes cause no end of damage to those who unwittingly buy them because of the pronounced "running natural" "cavemen" blah blah. If you want to do sprints then you will get away with it distance running takes on a whole different set of mechanics you will be in hospital.

Re: Can anyone recommend some plimsolls for running?
I basically have the flattest feet in the world - pretty much noninstep at all. And my feet are short and quite wide. For day tondaybshoes I have to buy something too big just to be comfortable. Trainers are a nightmare, football boots even worse - impossible to find anything comfortable, the only brand I had recommended for flat feet was bought out by sports direct and are apparently now shit

In Bristol there is a running shop "Easy Runner" where non of the trainers have a price on them. The staff fit you out and make you run up the street and back to see how your feet run!

When you are a fat fucker like me it is not good viewing...

Once they find the right shoes and you are happy that they are comfortable they charge you £95.

Re: Can anyone recommend some plimsolls for running?
asics or brooks. but you have to know the way you run more importantly - your level of 'pronation'. if you go to any runner need store they will film you on a treadmill and show you how you run mechanistically, and be able to suggest the right type of running shoe for you.

I have a pair of Asics for the gym and running. Very comfy and kind to the knees (I am an old git).
